Stenberg was selected No. 25 overall in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Stenberg also spent time with BIK Karlskoga in the HockeyAllsvenskan where he scored four goals and nine points in nine games. He added seven points in 12 qualification games with Karlskoga.

The 18-year-old represented Sweden on the international stage at the World Juniors where he collected five goals and four assists for nine points in seven games, capturing a silver medal. Stenberg also won gold at the 2022 U-18 Men’s World Championship and silver at both the 2023 U-18 World Juniors and the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

Daily Faceoff’s prospect expert Steven Ellis projected Stenberg to go 27th overall in his mock draft of the 2023 NHL Draft, Stenberg was selected 25h overall. Ellis had this to say about him in his prospect rankings:

“Scouts are completely mixed here. The highs are high. The lows are low. He looked out of place in the SHL but was excellent against kids his own age. The raw talent is there, especially as a 200-foot threat that can be dangerous around both nets. His biggest asset might be his play-reads.”
