NHL Hockey Player News

Talbot will start his fourth straight game.

Talbot allowed three goals on 25 shots in the Rangers overtime loss to the Stars on Sunday. He will go again tonight having gone 1-1-1 with a 2.68 GAA and .882 SV% since Henrik Lundqvist was injured. In his first start vs. the Leafs, he allowed five goals on 31 shots in a 5-4 loss—however the Maple Leafs aren’t playing like the same team that they were in November.

Cam Talbot
Hutchinson will start in goal vs. the Wild.

Hutchinson made 20 saves on 22 shots in the Jets loss to the Blackhawks on Friday. He has lost each of his last four starts while posting a 3.96 GAA and .861 SV%. Some rookie speed bumps were expected at some point, but the Jets are in the middle of a playoff race and need him to turn things around tonight vs. the Wild.

Michael Hutchinson
Smith will start his second game in as many nights.

Smith made 36 saves on 38 shots in the Coyotes 3-2 shootout win over the Blackhawks last night. Despite the busy night, he will go again tonight in St. Louis. All of the Mike Smith of old is back—he has gone 2-1-1 with a 1.45 GAA and .956 SV% in his last four starts. However, tonight's matchup on the tail-end of a back-to-back is terrifying from a fantasy perspective.

Mike Smith
Vasilevskiy will be in goal in Nashville.

Vasilevskiy stopped 19 of 20 shots after replacing Ben Bishop in the Lightning’s loss to the Kings on Friday. Since being recalled he has stopped 52 of 56 shots (.929 SV%). He draws a very difficult matchup against the NHL’s top team—Vasilevskiy has gone 3-1-0 with a 1.76 GAA and .941 SV% on the road.

Andrei Vasilevskiy
Rinne will start in goal vs. the Lightning.

Rinne stopped 30 of 32 shots in the Predators 3-2 win over the Rangers on Saturday afternoon. It was a nice bounce-back win for Rinne, who struggled in his return from a sprained knee. Rinne enters play against a great Lightning team at 18-3-1 with 1.94 GAA and .927 SV% at home this season.

Pekka Rinne
Ryan (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision on Tuesday.

Ryan left the Senators morning skate with cramps and is considered a game-time decision. Cramps seem relatively minor, so one would think Ryan will be in the lineup tonight, but monitor his status during the Senators pre-game warmups to be sure.

The Avalanche have reassigned Karl Stollery to Lake Erie (AHL).

Stollery did not get into the lineup during his recall. With Tyson Barrie back, Stollery became the Avs’ eighth defenseman. He returns to Lake Erie, where he has 12 points (4G / 8A) in 38 games.

Karl Stollery
Lehtera (concussion) will return to the Blues lineup on Tuesday.

Lehtera has missed the last six games with a concussion, but will return in his regular spot between Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko tonight vs. the Coyotes. Before getting hurt, he had just one goal and four assists in his last 15 games.

Jori Lehtera
Fasth starts vs. the Islanders.

Fasth allowed five goals on 28 shots in the Oilers 5-1 loss to the Maple Leafs on Saturday. He was given last night off, but Ben Scrivens suffered a hamstring injury, so Fasth will start tonight on Long Island. Fasth has gone 5-7-2 with a 3.38 GAA and .890 SV% on the road this season.

Viktor Fasth
Luongo starts vs. the Ducks.

Luongo allowed two goals on 25 shots in the Panthers 3-2 shootout loss to the Predators on Sunday. Since the All Star break, Luongo is 2-3-1 with a 3.22 GAA and .885 SV%. He draws a tough home matchup with the Ducks in town—he is 10-6-5 with a 2.36 GAA and .916 SV% at home.

Roberto Luongo
Seguin (flu) will be a game-time decision on Tuesday.

Seguin was sent back to the team hotel this morning and did not take part in the Stars morning skate. He is battling the flu and could miss tonight’s game. However, given it is in Boston against his former team, Seguin will likely do anything he can to be in the lineup tonight. Seguin has two assists in three career games vs. Boston.
