Rinne was on the ice for the Predators game day skate and took shots for the first time since spraining his knee on January 13th. He is two and a half weeks into a 3-5 week timeline, which is a good sign that Rinne should return at the front-end of his original timetable.

Schneider allowed one goal on 30 shots in the Devils 2-1 shootout win over the Maple Leafs on Wednesday. Schneider has gone 5-1-0 with a 1.88 GAA and .937 SV% in seven starts in January. It has been a strong month, but he has a tough matchup with the Penguins in town—Schneider is 1-2-0 with a 2.64 GAA and .905 SV% vs. Pittsburgh this season.
Glencross was available for Wednesday’s practice, but will not return to the lineup tonight vs. Minnesota. It will be the fifth straight game that Glencross has missed—consider him day-to-day.
Hall is listed as day-to-day with a bone bruise. It looks like he will miss a second straight game as the Oilers get set to take on the Sabres. Edmonton’s season is over, so there is no sense rushing Hall back into the lineup.
McElhinney made 25 saves on 28 shots in the Blue Jackets win over the Capitals on Tuesday. McElhinney has won his last two starts and sits at 5-6-1 with a 2.98 GAA and .906 SV% on the season. Tonight he will take on a Panthers team who have lost five straight games.
Smith allowed three goals on 42 shots in the Coyotes loss in Philadelphia on Tuesday. His dreadful season continues and he sits at 7-20-4 with a 3.49 GAA and .889 SV% on the season. However, he draws a strong matchup tonight against a Maple Leafs team who can’t buy a goal right now.
Rask stopped 34 of 36 shots in the Bruins loss to Colorado before the All Star break. He has been strong in January, posting a 5-1-3 record, 1.63 GAA and .946 SV% in nine starts. He will start vs. an Islanders team who have won six of seven while averaging 4.57 goals per game.
Jurco has missed the last eight games with a back injury, but he will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Lightning. He will skate with Joakim Andersson and Drew Miller on the Wings’ fourth line as well as on the second power-play unit. Jurco has two goals and 10 assists (12 points) in 37 games.
Stuart has missed the Jets last two games with a lower-body injury, but will be back in tonight vs. Philadelphia. He will be paired with Jacob Trouba—Stuart has registered 11 points (1G / 10A) and a plus-7 rating in 38 games.
Anisimov has been out with a torn tricep since November 29th, but will slide back into the lineup tonight vs. the Panthers. He will centre the Blue Jackets’ third line between Alexander Wennberg and Josh Anderson. Prior to getting hurt, Anisimov had six points (2G / 4A) in 16 games.
Hutchinson stopped all 29 shots that he faced in the Jets 4-0 shutout win over the Blue Jackets on January 21st. It was his fourth straight win and second shutout of the season. The 24-year-old net minder sits at 14-4-2 with a 1.90 GAA and .935 SV% on the season. Tonight he will face a Flyers team who have gone 4-4-0 in their last eight.
Lehtonen gave up three goals on 26 shots in the Stars loss to the Canadiens on Tuesday. He has allowed at least three goals in seven of nine January games, going 3-3-2 with a 3.45 GAA and .886 SV% in the process. Tonight he will get another shot at the Sens—he was pulled after allowing two goals on five shots on January 13th.
Mrazek allowed four goals on 41 shots in the Red Wings 5-4 win over the Panthers on Tuesday. He will go again tonight in Tampa Bay having gone 6-1-0 with a 2.73 GAA and .909 SV% in the month of January. The Lightning present a tough challenge for Mrazek, but the way the Wings are rolling, he still makes for an average start tonight.
Bishop surrendered four goals on 22 shots in the Lightning’s 4-2 loss to the Hurricanes on Tuesday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Bishop, who will start again tonight vs. the Red Wings. Detroit enters play on a six-game winning streak and atop the Atlantic Division.
Khudobin stopped 28 of 30 shots in the Hurricanes 4-2 win over the Lightning on Tuesday. Khudobin has grabbed the number-1 job and run with it. He has won six consecutive starts with a 1.44 GAA and .946 SV%. Despite his recent run, he draws a terrible matchup against a Blues team who are 7-0-1 in their last eight.
Bernier made 22 saves on 23 shots in the Maple Leafs 2-1 shootout loss to the Devils last night. Bernier will be back in goal for the second game in as many night as the Leafs look to snap a seven-game losing streak. Bernier has gone 1-6-1 with a 2.87 GAA and .887 SV% in January.
Despite having a one goal and four assists in his last six games, he will be a healthy scratch for the second straight game. Curtis Lazar will centre the fourth line with Legwand out.
Lupul has been out since December 31st with a lower-body injury, but he could return tonight vs. the Coyotes. Monitor his status during pre-game warmups that start at 7:00 PM ET.
Petrovic was recalled on Wednesday and will be in the lineup tonight. He will replace Dylan Olsen and likely be paired with Erik Gudbranson. Petrovic leads all San Antonio (AHL) blue liners with 19 points (3G / 16A) this season.
Raffl will likely miss his second straight game with an illness. With Raffl out, Petr Straka will stay in the lineup. Raffl is day-to-day.
