Leddy (upper-body) is day-to-day; questionable for Friday's game.

Leddy missed Thursday's practice with an upper-body injury that he likely suffered on Tuesday vs. the Sharks. With Leddy questionable, the Islanders recalled Ryan Pulock from Bridgeport (AHL) and he will take Leddy's spot in the lineup should he be unable to play tomorrow.

Schenn has served his suspension and will make his season debut on Thursday.

Schenn’s three-game is done and he is set to return to the Flyers’ lineup on Thursday. Schenn is coming off of a career-year and will take his spot on the Flyers’ top line with Claude Giroux and Wayne Simmonds back from Michael Raffl, who was injured last night.

Buchnevich (back spasms) will not play on Monday.

Buchnevich has recorded one assist and four shots on goal while averaging 14:52 TOI in his first two career NHL games. With the rookie out, Rick Nash is expected to move into the top-6, Jesper Fast to the third line and Josh Jooris is expected to make his Rangers debut. Buchnevich is listed as day-to-day.

Faksa (concussion) is expected to be ready for the Stars’ season opener (Oct. 13).

Faksa suffered a concussion while representing Team Czech Republic at the World Cup of Hockey, but he is expected to return to practice on Monday or Tuesday and should be ready for the season opener. With Cody Eakin out for six weeks, Faksa could take on a larger role than he was expected to to start the season.

The Flyers signed Brayden Schenn to a four-year contract extension worth $20.5 million ($5.125M AAV).

The Flyers and Schenn avoid arbitration by getting this deal signed. Schenn is coming off of a career-year, notching 26 goals and 33 assists (59 points) in 80 games. In the 2016 calendar year, Schenn was among the best fantasy forwards, collecting 44 points (19G / 25A) in 46 games from January-to-April—he had just 15 points (7G / 8A) in the first 34 games of the season. Schenn might not turn into a point-per-game player during the 2016-17 season, but he might be able to top 60 points for the first time in his career.

The Maple Leafs Josh Leivo to a two-year contract extension.

Leivo, 23, spent the majority of the 2015-16 season with the Toronto Marlies, but also appeared in 12 games with the Maple Leafs. During his time in the NHL he scored five goals, but was much more effective in the AHL, collecting 17 goals and 31 assists (48 points) in 51 games. Leivo will try and crack the Leafs’ roster during training camp.

The Blues have signed Carl Gunnarsson to a three-year extension worth $8.7 million.

Gunnarsson, 29, has dressed in 62 games for the Blues this season, tallying seven points (2G / 5A), 27 penalty minutes and a plus-6 rating. Across 427 career regular season games between the Blues and Maple Leafs, Gunnarsson has registered 105 points (19G / 86A), 121 penalty minutes and a plus-30 rating.
