The highly anticipated 4 Nations Face-Off championship between Canada and the United States had more than 16 million people tune into the game.
The breakdown comes from over 9.25 million viewers in the United States and 6.883 million in Canada. The Sportsnet broadcast was averaging 5.7 million viewers and peaked at 10.7 million Canadians.

When Connor McDavid played hero, scoring the overtime winner for Canada, the concurrent audience peaked at 7.3 million in Canada. According to Sportsnet, 14.4 million Canadians tuned in to 4 Nations Face-Off on their network. The viewership of 16 million plus, ranks this game higher than any NHL game ever.
It was one of the most memorable tournaments in a long time for fans which of course is not just highlighted by McDavid’s overtime goal, but by the three fights in nine seconds, which captivated the entire sports world when Brady and Matthew Tkachuk took matters into their hands fighting Sam Bennett and Brandon Hagel.
Team Canada head coach Jon Cooper spoke to the media post-game following the win. “This one was different. This wasn’t a win for themselves. This was a win for 40-plus million people, and the guys knew it and they delivered,” said Cooper.

Team Canada goaltender Jordan Binnington ended up making 31 saves in the win. The St. Louis Blues netminder, who turned back the clock to the 2019 Stanley Cup Final on Thursday Night, played in all four games for Canada, posting a 2.37 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage.
