2022-23 Stanley Cup Final preview hub
The Vegas Golden Knights drilled down to the fifth string on their goaltending depth chart and overcame living legend Connor McDavid to get here. The Florida Panthers survived a 3-1 series deficit against the best regular-season team ever and have been almost untouchable since. The 2022-23 Stanley Cup Final matchup is one of the strangest and least likely in NHL history and features two teams that have never won a championship before.
Will the Golden Knights continue to get incredible goaltending from unlikely hero Adin Hill, as well as superb play from Jack Eichel, who has yet to lose a series in the first postseason of his career? Can the Panthers keep relying on gargantuan efforts from superstar Matthew Tkachuk and resurgent goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky?
Once we reach the Final, the ‘Team of Destiny’ label no longer applies, as both combatants feel entitled to that mentality. The momentum carried them this far, but the Final will be won by the better team. And who might that be?
