It’s almost time to drop the puck on the 2024-25 Stanley Cup playoffs. We’ll be treated to the Battle of Ontario, the Battle of Florida, a grudge match between the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings, the return of the Montreal Canadiens to the postseason and so much more.

Who will be the last team standing in June? The Daily Faceoff crew took their swings at building brackets to forecast the next two months of action.

– Amazingly, five panelists picked the Colorado Avalanche to go all the way and capture their second Stanley Cup in a four-season stretch. No other team received more than one championship vote.

– We expect iron to sharpen iron when the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers meet in Round 1, evidently, as eight brackets have one of the two Florida teams reaching the Final: five pick Tampa and three pick Florida.

– One panelist predicts Canada’s Cup drought will halt at 32 years, with Paul Pidutti selecting the Winnipeg Jets as his Cup winner. Winnipeg winning would mean a Presidents’ Trophy winner is crowned champion for the first time since 2012-13.
