Martone spent the 2024-25 season with the Brampton Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he tallied 38 goals and 61 assists for 98 points in 57 games. Martone was one of a number of OHL players who participated in the CHL vs. NDTP matchup, which saw the CHL win the series 2-0.
Martone represented Canada at the IIHF World Junior Championship, where he tallied one goal in three games.
The 18-year-old ranks No. 4 on Steven Ellis’ prospect rankings. “Some love him; others aren’t so sure. I think Martone is going to have a long, successful NHL career. He possesses an excellent combination of skill, size and power, and he’s equally dangerous as a shooter and a passer. He’s not your typical power forward player, and that’s because he can beat guys with pure skill. He fell just short of 100 points in his third OHL campaign, but he was still must-watch entertainment every night for the Steelheads. I like Martone as a future top-six forward who can finish plays and throw the body around.”
Canada is set to face Sweden on Tuesday, and then will get ready for the Quarterfinal matchup where Martone could jump into the lineup.
