The 2025 World Junior Championship kicks off on Thursday, Dec. 26, and it’s bound to be a good one.
The tournament returns to Ottawa, Ontario, for the first time since 2009 – an event best known as the one that made Jordan Eberle a Canadian hockey icon. The United States are hoping to win the tournament in consecutive years for the first time in the team’s history, while Canada is hoping to get revenge on home ice after falling in the quarterfinals.
Ten teams are set to do battle for gold from Dec. 26 – Jan. 5, with games taking place at the Canadian Tire Centre and TD Place. Here’s what you need to know heading into the tournament, with a little look on every team and much more:
