Adam Larsson signs four-year extension with Seattle Kraken

As first reported by Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli, defenseman Adam Larsson and the Seattle Kraken have agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension.

Larsson has one-year left on his current deal with a cap hit of $4 million. His new deal, which kicks in with the 2025-26 season, holds an AAV of $5.25 million.

Larsson spent the 2023-24 campaign with the Kraken, his third season with the club and donned the assistant captaincy. The 31-year-old racked up four goals and 14 assists for 18 points in 81 regular season games while adding 162 hits, and a plus-6 rating, ranking fourth among Kraken defensemen.

The Skelleftea, Sweden product was originally selected No. 4 overall in the 2011 NHL Draft by the New Jersey Devils and spent his first five NHL seasons in Newark before being dealt to the Edmonton Oilers for Taylor Hall. Larsson spent five years with Edmonton before being picked up by Seattle upon entering the league as the 32nd expansion club.

Through 14 seasons, Larsson has appeared in 848 games tallying 45 goals and 168 assists for 213 points. He has appeared in 38 Stanley Cup Playoff contests, tallying 13 points.
