Amazon Prime joins PWHL as league broadcast partner
Fans in Canada will have a new way to catch the Professional Women’s Hockey League this season.
On Thursday, the league revealed its Canadian broadcast partners for the 2024-25 campaign, featuring the introduction of Prime Video to the lineup. The streaming platform, which originated from Amazon, will join TSN, RDS, and CBC/Radio-Canada in broadcasting all 90 regular-season games, along with the PWHL Playoffs.

All 30 of the Montreal Victoire’s regular-season and postseason contests will have French broadcasts.
“The consistent visibility and accessibility of PWHL games in partnership with TSN and RDS, CBC/Radio-Canada, and Prime Video is a win for the League, but most importantly for our fans in Canada,” Senior vice president of business operations Amy Scheer said in a release. “The composition of our Canadian broadcast schedule reflects a growing interest in women’s hockey and a commitment from our partners to showcase the PWHL to fans and new audiences on a variety of platforms.”
The addition of Prime Video to the league fills the hole that is being left behind as Sportsnet, a partner during the PWHL’s inaugural campaign, did not renew a deal with the league. Prime will have the exclusive Canadian coverage for all 16 Tuesday night PWHL games this year, starting with the Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres renewing the Battle of Ontario on Dec. 3.
CBC will broadcast the first game of the 2024-25 season on Saturday, Nov. 30, as the Sceptres are set to host the Boston Fleet at Coca-Cola Coliseum. It will be the first of 17 weekly afternoon games featured on Canada’s largest news broadcaster. TSN will be showcasing 57 games during the regular season, also starting on Nov. 30, with the Victoire and Charge renewing their rivalry.
The semifinals will be split between TSN/RDS and Prime, while TSN/RDS will have exclusive coverage of the PWHL Final.
