The Anaheim Ducks have acquired forward Evgenii Dadonov from the Vegas Golden Knights.

According to ESPN’s Emily Kaplan, the Golden Knights are receiving draft picks in return in a move to clear up some cap space. According to PuckPedia, Dadonov has one year remaining after this on a deal paying him $5 million a year.

The 33-year-old has appeared in 62 games with the Golden Knights this year, tallying 15 goals and 27 points. He’s appeared in 397 games over his career with the Florida Panthers, Ottawa Senators and the Golden Knights scoring 119 goals and totalling 249 points in 397 games.

With him on the ice at 5-on-5, the Golden Knights controlled 53.59 percent of the shot attempts, 52.46 percent of the goals scored and 53.76 percent of the expected goal share.

According to hockeyviz.com, Dadonov’s isolated impacts show he’s a strong offensive play driver. He contributes offense at a five-percent rate above league average and defense at a two-percent rate below league average.

He’ll be able to slide into the top six for the Ducks and replace some of the production lost in the Rickard Rakell trade.
