Sennecke was taken No. 3 overall in the 2024 NHL Draft in Las Vegas back in June, his reaction to the Ducks drafting him went viral on the internet.
The 18-year-old notched 27 goals and 41 assists for 68 points in 63 games during the 2023-24 season with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), and was a big part in getting the Generals to the OHL Final, registering 10 goals and 23 points in 16 games.
Suchanek signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Ducks back in March. He spent the 2023-24 campaign with the Ducks’ AHL affiliate the San Diego Gulls, posting a 12-6-3 record with a .919 save percentage. Suchanek also put together a 3-5-0 record with the ECHL’s Tulsa Oilers.
The 21-year-old netminder had a 39-38-7 record with the Tri-City Americans over two seasons in the WHL after moving to North America from his native Czechia in 2021. Suchanek helped lead the Czechs to the bronze medal game at the 2022 World Juniors, making a name for himself. He took over the starter role in 2023, taking silver after leading the tournament with a .939 save percentage.
