Andrew Cogliano returns to Colorado Avalanche on one-year deal
The Colorado Avalanche have brought back forward Andrew Cogliano on a one-year contract worth $850,000.
Cogliano left Colorado’s first-round series against the Seattle Kraken after suffering a fractured neck from a hit from behind by Seattle’s Jordan Eberle.
Clearly, that didn’t stop him, hence the new deal. The speedy bottom-six forward had 10 goals and 19 points in 77 games, up from his 16 points during the 2021-22 regular season with San Jose and Colorado. Cogliano helped the Avalanche win the Stanley Cup in 2022, recording six points in 16 games.
Drafted 25th overall by the Avalanche in 2005, Cogliano has 184 goals and 445 points in 1,219 games with Edmonton, Anaheim, Dallas, San Jose and Colorado.
The Avalanche have $575,000 in salary cap space, with just a deal required for RFA Ross Colton. The team signed Jonathan Drouin and Miles Wood to deals on Saturday, as well as a host of AHLers.
