Are the Vegas Golden Knights the team to beat this season?
The Vegas Golden Knights have been one of hockey’s best teams this season, thanks in large to a 12-2-0 record in their last 14 games and the strong performances of players like Jack Eichel, Mark Stone and Shea Theodore.
The Golden Knights have 57 points and are sitting at the top of the league standings. With a 17-4-0 record at home, as well as a league-leading 24 regulation wins, Vegas has again put itself in a position to be among the league’s best.
On Monday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discuss the Golden Knights and play “The Overreaction Game,” ranking on a scale of one to 10 how much of an overreaction a statement is.
Tyler Yaremchuk: Let’s go to the top of the Pacific Division. With 57 points on the year, the Golden Knights are No. 1 in the standings, and not just the division and conference, but the entire league.
I’m going to say that the Vegas Golden Knights are the best team in the NHL, and they should be Stanley Cup favorites. On a scale of one-to-10, where are you at?
Frank Seravalli: I’m gonna say that’s a two. It’s pretty close to spot on, I don’t know if they should be far and away the Cup favorites, because one of the other favorites is in their division, the Edmonton Oilers. That would be an unreal playoff matchup.
I don’t know why so many people seem to be sleeping on the Golden Knights. I don’t know if it’s fatigue for a team that’s always in the mix, but there isn’t really anything that they’re bad at. They have 17 wins in 21 games on home ice, and it’s been an incredible advantage.
