Betway starting goalie bet of the day: Bet on an easier workload for Sergei Bobrovsky as the Panthers look to even up Stanley Cup Finals
Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
With three minutes remaining in game three, it looked like the Vegas Golden Knights were going to take a stranglehold on the Stanley Cup Finals. A hobbled Matthew Tkachuk had different plans, scoring the tying goal with 2:13 left in regulation with Sergei Bobrovksy on the bench for an extra attacker.
The Panthers were able to force overtime for the seventh time this postseason. Carter Verhaeghe beat Adin Hill 4:27 into overtime, improving the Panthers’ overtime record to an incredible 7-0, giving the Panthers their first ever win in the cup finals, and most importantly, cutting the Golden Knights’ series lead to 2-1. Verhaeghe’s goal is unquestionably the biggest in Panthers history, so far.
The Panthers faced a ton of adversity in their game three win, a late deficit, an injury to their leading scorer in Tkachuk, and an injury to their number one defender Brandon Montour. Where many other teams would have folded, the scrappy eighth seeded Panthers did what they did all playoffs long and stayed resilient.
Game four will take place on Saturday night, with the Panthers looking to tie the series. Here is a goalie prop I like for tonight’s game.
Goalie Prop
Sergei Bobrovsky to make under 27.5 saves
Bobrovsky has made under 28 saves in two of the three games in this series and has only averaged 20 saves per game. I like the under here based on these numbers. Game three was very low event and I expect the Panthers to control the play at home, still trailing in the series.
Goalie Prop
Adin Hill to make over 30.5 saves at -125.
Hill made only 20 saves in game three not coming close to his over. Our record for the playoff is now 13-12.
