Betway starting goalie bet of the day: Bet on Jake Oettinger to face an onslaught against the Vegas Golden Knights in game five
Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
The Dallas Stars forced a game five in a thrilling 3-2 overtime win on Thursday night. Joe Pavelski scored the game winner on a power play and now has 73 career playoff goals, one more than Alex Ovechkin’s 72 for the lead among all active NHL players.
Jason Robertson was the difference maker for the Stars, scoring two goals and registering a playoff high 11 shots. For reference, in Carolina and Florida’s quadruple overtime marathon game, Brandon Montour led both teams with eight shots. Robertson had 11 in 63 minutes.
Jake Oettinger had a solid bounce back game for the Stars after being pulled in game four after allowing three goals on five shots, Oettinger answered with a 39 save effort in game four to keep his team alive.
The Golden Knights still lead the series 3-1 and continue to get excellent goaltending from Aiden Hill who made 39 saves to earn third star honors in the losing effort.
Game five will take place in T-Mobile Arena in Vegas, here is a goalie bet I like for tonight’s game.
Goalie Prop
Jake Oettinger to make over 27.5 saves at -110
Vegas will look to close this series out tonight to avoid traveling back to Dallas for a game six. We all know the immense pressure that also come with going from a 3-0 series lead to just being up 3-2, as we’re currently seeing in the NBA with the Miami Heat, so I expect the Knights to berate Oettinger with shots and the onus will be on him to keep his team in the game.
Oettinger made 33 saves in game one in Vegas and I expect a similar total tonight, three out of four games in this series have gone to overtime and as we know that helps inflate numbers. I’m rolling with the over tonight and I am confident in it.
Last Game Bet
Jake Oettinger to make over 25.5 saves at -125
Oettinger made 39 saves and the over hit, we’re now 12-9 for the playoffs.
