The St. Louis Blues announced Monday that forward Alexandre Texier has been placed on Injured Reserve with an upper-body injury.

The 25-year-old forward has one assist in the Blues’ 3-2 win over the Seattle Kraken. But an upper-body injury sidelined Texier for the following two games.

Last season, Texier had 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points in 78 regular-season games with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was traded to St. Louis in June for a 2025 fourth-round pick.

Now entering his sixth NHL season, Texier has 34 goals and 46 assists for 80 points in 202 regular-season games with the Blues and Blue Jackets.

Texier is one of just 13 players in NHL history to come from France. After scoring 10 goals and nine assists for 19 points in 40 games with France’s Grenoble, Texier was drafted by Columbus in the second round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He would spend the next two seasons with KalPa Kuopio of the SM-liiga in Finland, scoring 27 goals and 36 assists for 63 points in 108 games.

Texier also spent a season with Zurich SC of the Swiss league in 2022-23, scoring 13 goals and 22 assists for 35 points in 46 games.

Last season, the Blues went 43-33-6 with 92 points, falling just six points shy of the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. Forward Robert Thomas led the team in assists (60) and points (86), while Jordan Kyrou had a team-leading 31 goals.

The Blues play their next game Tuesday against the Minnesota Wild. Puck drop is at 7:30 E.T.
