Blues, Blackhawks reveal jerseys for 2025 Winter Classic
We have our first look at the uniforms that will be worn in the league’s annual outdoor showcase.
On Wednesday, the league released the first images of the jerseys that the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues will wear at the 2025 NHL Winter Classic. Fanatics, the league’s authentic outfitter, showcases both teams’ heritages while tracing “NHL Winter Classic” at the bottom of the hem of each sweater.
The Blackhawks’ unis introduces unique design elements that pay homage to the team’s history. The classic necklace collar hovers above the old-school logo the team donned for many decades, which has been used in other outdoor game jerseys the Hawks have worn in recent memory. The stars from the Chicago flag are also noticeable on the logo, while subtle pinstripes grace the numbers on the back–in reference to the city’s deep love for baseball.
The Blues will be wearing an “away cream-based” jersey with no actual team logo on the front. The “Blue Note” logo the team has put into prominence for its entire history is stitched into the left shoulder. The font and styling of the jersey pay homage to the prototype uniforms that the team displayed when it was introduced in 1966, though the Blues elected to steer away from it when they took to the ice the following year. Also, fleur-de-lis designs can be found on the inside back neck and hem loop, honoring the city of St. Louis.
The jerseys are on sale now at NHLShop.com and NHLShop.ca.
The 16th edition of the Winter Classic will see the longtime division rivals face off at the historic Wrigley Field on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 5 p.m. ET. It is the second time the home of the Chicago Cubs will hold the outdoor event, with the Hawks losing to the Detroit Red Wings in 2009.
Chicago and St. Louis have already met in the Winter Classic. In 2017, the Blues beat the Blackhawks at Busch Stadium.
