When speaking to the media after practice on Wednesday, St. Louis Blues head coach Drew Bannister stated that defenseman Nick Leddy is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

While it was not revealed when or where Leddy was injury, NHL.com Blues reporter Lou Korac pointed out that Leddy blocked a shot against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night, prior to the Wild scoring their third goal of the game.

It has been a tough start to the season for Leddy, who is playing in his fourth season with the team. Paired up with Colton Parayko, the veteran blueliner has struggled through four games. Leddy was on the ice for two of the four goals against Minnesota, and has been present for eight of the 14 goals the Blues have surrendered thus far. The 33-year-old has scored no points, along with a plus/minus of -3 in 2024-25, but is still averaging over 22 minutes per game.

It is far from the performance Leddy put forth last season, where he notched three goals and 28 points in 82 games, his highest-scoring season in three years. Leddy also posted a +14 rating, his best single-season plus/minus in almost a decade.

With Leddy out, that might make room for Philp Broberg to move up to the top pair in St. Louis, with veteran Ryan Suter potentially moving up the depth chart.

Leddy is in the third season of his four-year contract that he signed with the Blues in July 2022. The deal carries a cap hit of $4 million through 2025-26.

In 1,015 NHL appearances, including stops with the Chicago Blackhawks, New York Islanders and Detroit Red Wings, Leddy has scored 73 goals and 338 assists for 411 points. He has also registered 38 points in 130 postseason games, including winning a Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in 2013.
