The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Department of Player Safety announced that St. Louis Blues forward Zachary Bolduc has been fined $2,248.26, the maximum allowable under the collective bargaining agreement for cross-checking Nashville Predators defenseman Nick Blankenburg.

The incident occurred at 13:32 of the third period. Bolduc was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for cross-checking.

Blankenburg threw an open-ice hit on Robert Thomas resulting in Bolduc coming to his aid.

“Much appreciated,” Thomas told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch regarding Bolduc coming to his defence. “He’s a guy that’s really exploded, really feeling comfortable. He’s playing amazing hockey. He’s playing the right way. It was nice for him to stick up for me, and definitely owe him.”

Bolduc has had a steady year with the Blues where he has tallied 14 goals and 15 assists for 29 points in 62 games. The Trois-Rivieres, Quebec native appeared in 25 games with the Blues during the 2023-24 season.
