Khusnutdinov is coming off the two-year, entry-level contract that he signed in February 2024 with the Minnesota Wild, the team that took him in the second round, 37th overall, of the 2020 NHL Draft. The Russian forward came over to North America after spending the beginning of the 2023-24 season with both SKA St. Petersburg and HK Sochi of the Kontinental Hockey League.
Khusnutdinov started this past year in Minnesota but was traded to the Bruins, along with Jakub Lauko and a 2026 sixth-round pick, for Justin Brazeau prior to the trade deadline. In 18 games with Boston, the 22-year-old posted three goals and two assists for five points. In 75 games overall during 2024-25, he scored five goals and seven assists for 12 points.
In 91 career NHL appearances, Khustnutdinov has registered six goals and 10 assists for 16 points.
Callahan was set to become a Group 6 unrestricted free agent had he not been signed by July 1. This is his third contract with the Bruins, the team with which he originally signed his entry-level contract in March 2022. The former Providence College standout made his pro debut with the Bruins’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Providence Bruins, at the beginning of the 2022-23 season.
After spending two full seasons in Providence, Callahan made his NHL debut on Jan. 14, 2025. He ended up playing 17 games before the end of the season, scoring his first goal against the New Jersey Devils on April 8.
In 185 AHL games, Callahan has notched seven goals and 29 assists for 36 points, including four assists in 16 Calder Cup Playoff games.
The Franklin, Massachusetts native was originally selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the fifth round, 142nd overall, of the 2018 NHL Draft. His signing rights were traded to the Bruins for a seventh-round pick in February 2022.
