Fleet re-sign Aerin Frankel, Megan Keller, Alina Muller to two-year contract extensions

Three of the most prominent players in the PWHL are staying in Beantown.
On Monday, the Boston Fleet announced that the team has signed forward Alina Müller, defender Megan Keller and goaltender Aerin Frankel to two-year contract extensions. The deals, which kick in next season, will carry the trio through the 2027-28 campaign.
All three have been with the franchise since day one and were key members of the Boston team that made it all the way to the PWHL Final in the league’s inaugural season.
Had the Fleet made it to the playoffs this year, Frankel probably would’ve been named the Goaltender of the Year, and arguably would’ve been a finalist for league MVP. That’s how important she was in 2024-25, and for the team’s short history. In 23 games last season, the Northeastern star posted a 12-8-3 record with a 2.28 goals-against average, a .921 save percentage (good for second in the league) and one shutout.
“Every time I step on the ice, I’m reminded of how special it is to represent Boston,” Frankel said in a release. “The passion of the fans, the support from the organization, and the bond with my teammates mean the world to me. I don’t take any of it for granted and couldn’t be more excited to extend my contract in the city of Boston.”
In 41 regular-season games, Frankel has a career record of 20-14-5 with a 2.16 GAA, a .924 SV% and two shutouts.
Like Frankel, Keller came into the league with high expectations earned thanks to an already-stellar international career, as one of the team’s first three free agent signings. Though her production dipped this past season compared to year one, Keller was still one of the top defenders in the league. In 30 games, she scored five goals and eight assists for 13 points, with a plus/minus of -5.
“I’m beyond excited to be part of the Boston Fleet organization for the next three years,” Keller said. “Boston has truly become home, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to keep building something special here.”
The Farmington, Michigan native has scored nine goals and 19 assists for 28 points in 54 career games with the Fleet.
Müller has been an exciting player since the PWHL got off the ground, and, after returning from an early-season injury this past season, she became one of the league’s most effective scorers. After leading the team in scoring in 2024, the Swiss star was great again this past season, posting career highs in goals (7), assists (12) and points (19) in 26 games. She finished second on the team in scoring behind captain Hilary Knight.
“I am so happy and grateful to stay in Boston for three more years and continue building towards a championship,” Müller said. “Boston has become home, both on and off the ice and I’m honored to continue representing this city and this organization. To my teammates, the coaches, the organization and the fans, thank you for the dedication.”
In 50 games, the 27-year-old has potted 12 goals and 23 assists for 35 points.
The Fleet are looking to build off a tough 2024-25 campaign where they finished fifth in the league standings, missing out on the postseason by losing on the final day of the regular season to the eventual Walter Cup champion Minnesota Frost.
