The PWHL announced Tuesday that after a review by the Player Safety Committee, Boston Fleet forward Hannah Brandt has been fined $250 for an illegal cross-check committed during Sunday’s game against the New York Sirens.

“The Player Safety Committee determined that Brandt delivered a dangerous cross check to the head of opponent Brooke Hobson that went unpenalized during play,” the league wrote in its statement. “This is the first fine that Brandt has been assessed in her PWHL career.”

In 19 games this season with the Fleet, Brandt has one goal and seven assists for eight points. Last season, she had five goals and five assists for 10 points in 24 regular-season games, chipping in a goal and assist for two points in eight playoff games, helping Boston reach the Walter Cup Final.

The Fleet won 3-2 on Sunday, with goaltender Aerin Frankel stopping 37 of 39 shots. The game was part of the PWHL’s Takeover Tour, played at Keybank Center in Buffalo, N.Y., home of the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres. The attendance for Sundays’ game was 8,512.

Forward and captain Hilary Knight leads the team in points with 17 (eight goals and nine assists), while Alina Muller is second with 13 points (five goals and eight assists).

The Fleet are 6-5-2-6 with 30 points, third in the PWHL standings, winning four straight and six of their last seven games.

Boston’s next game is Saturday, when they travel to Quebec to take on the first-place Montreal Victoire.
