After not finding a gig for the 2020-21 season, Brian Boyle is back in the NHL.
According to Frank Seravalli, Boyle has signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins worth $750,000. Boyle had been at camp with the Penguins on a professional tryout contract.

What a story. The 36-year-old did not get a deal last season, played for Team USA at the Worlds and worked his way back to NHL on PTO.
Boyle last played for the Florida Panthers in 2019-20, where he scored six goals and 15 points over the course of 39 regular-season games. He also scored one goal for the Panthers in four playoff games that summer.
Boyle didn’t find an NHL gig for the 2021 season, but he did lace up for the United States at the World Hockey Championships in Latvia. Boyle captained the U.S. squad to a bronze medal and scored three points over the course of 10 games.
Originally a first-round pick of the LA Kings, Boyle has played in 805 NHL games over 13 seasons. He was awarded the Masterton Trophy in 2018 for perseverance and dedication to hockey after a battle with chronic myeloid leukemia.
