The Boston Bruins announced that defenseman Andrew Peeke would not return to Tuesday’s game versus the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Peeke sustained an upper-body injury after a big hit from Maple Leafs forward Max Pacioretty. Peeke logged 4:49 minutes of ice time and picked up one hit and one blocked shot.

The 26-year-old has tallied two assists in 12 games with the Bruins to start the 2024-25 campaign.

Boston acquired Peeke last season at the trade deadline in exchange for Jakub Zboril and a 2027 third-round draft pick. Peeke notched two points in 15 games with the Bruins and appeared in six Stanley Cup Playoff contests.

The Parkland, Florida native has 46 points in 245 career games over parts of six seasons, highlighted by his 15-point effort during the 2021-22 season.

Before turning pro, Peeke spent three years with the University of Notre Dame, winning the Big 10 championship in 2018 and 2019. He also won bronze with USA at the 2018 World Juniors and was a key piece of USA’s World Championship effort in 2021.

Peeke will be a UFA after the 2025-26 season. He currently has an AAV of $2.75 million.

Following Tuesday’s game against Toronto, the Bruins will get ready to face off against the Calgary Flames on Thursday and the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
