Buffalo Sabres Dustin Tokarski named NHL first star of the week
Buffalo Sabres goalie Dustin Tokarski has been named the NHL’s first star of the week.
Tokarski, 31, helped the Sabres to a 2-1-1 record last week while posting a .934 save percentage and a 2.27-goals against average. He made 29 stops in a 3-2 SO loss against the Bruins on April 13, then posted 27 stops in a 5-2 win over the Washington Capitals two days later. He finished the week with starts against the Penguins on April 17th and 18th, making 38 saves and 34 saves in a 3-2 loss and a 4-2 win.
Second star of the week was New York Rangers forward Artemi Panarin, 29, who scored 10 points in four games last week. He kicked off his week with a goal in a 3-0 win over the New Jersey Devils on April 13, before having three multiple point nights. He had two goals and an assists in a 4-0 win April 15, a goal and three assists on April 17 and a two assist night April 18th.
Mark Stone was named the third star of the week after scoring eight points in four games. He posted back-to-back one goal, one assist games against the LA Kings on April 12th and 14th, before notching two assists in a 4-0 win over the Ducks on April 16. Two days later, he posted another one goal, one assist performance in a 5-2 win.
