Calgary Flames acquire forward Calle Jarnkrok from Seattle Kraken
The Calgary Flames have acquired forward Calle Jarnkrok from the Seattle Kraken, Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli reported Wednesday.
Cousins Calle Jarnkrok and Elias Lindholm are about to be United in Calgary. Jarnkrok is heading to the #Flames.
Sounds like multiple draft picks going from CGY to #SeaKraken.

SEA retains 50% on Jarnkrok
As noted by Seravalli, the Flames are giving up a 2nd round pick owned by
Florida in the 2022 draft, a 2023 3rd round pick and a 2024 7th round pick. Seattle is retaining 50% of the salary on Jarnkrok’s $2-million contract expiring at the end of this year.
The 7th round pick was included for the Kraken to retain the salary.
He was listed as the 11th player on Seravalli’s Trade Targets list.
“Jarnkrok, the former Predator, has delivered in Seattle as one of the Kraken’s better Expansion Draft picks,” said Seravalli. “Jarnkrok checks just about every box for a suitor as a deadline trade chip: He’s strong on the forecheck, he’s productive, he provides lots of lineup flexibility as he can play either center or wing, and his salary cap hit is inexpensive.”
Drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2nd round of the 2010 draft, Jarnkrok never played for the club before being traded to the Nashville Predators. He spent eight seasons with the Predators before being selected by the Kraken in their expansion draft.
He’s continued to play in a middle-six role with the Kraken scoring 12 goals and 26 points in 49 games.
With him on the ice at 5×5 this year, the Kraken controlled 48.15 percent of the shot attempts, 43.1 percent of the goals scored and 45.66 percent of the expected goal share. He also has an on-ice save percentage of 89.07
