The Flames mean business in playoff push

The Calgary Flames continue to make their case to qualify for the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Following Tuesday’s 4-3 overtime thriller over the Seattle Kraken, the Flames picked up their fourth-straight victory to move with four points of the second wildcard seed of the Western Conference.
On Wednesday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk chatted about the Flames’ play this season and how the squad has the opportunity to lock up a playoff berth in the coming weeks.
Tyler Yaremchuk: It was comeback season last night for the Flames. I was watching the game live and it was like, ‘Okay, they’re down, so we’re going to talk about the Flames and the missed opportunity they had.’ Then they stormed back in the third and took the lead and I was like, ‘Okay, we’re talking about the comeback Flames.’ Then they blow it, then they win it. It was just this back and forth affair, but a big two points for Calgary.
Frank Seravalli: Absolute rollercoaster for the Flames. Look, I think it speaks to their season. Win five in a row to start, lose five in a row and back to .500. All of sudden it’s, ‘Hey, can this team be a playoff team?’ We get to U.S. Thanksgiving and we feel like the answer is yes. They scratch and claw and hang in the race and here they are approaching April 1 and now they control their own destiny. Full two points. Doesn’t really matter how you do it when it’s against a non-playoff team. Three games back of the St. Louis Blues again as the Blues played last night, and four points back. They’re in a spot where if you win your games, you control your destiny. And, oh by the way, if you win your games in hand, you catch the Minnesota Wild, who are suddenly falling a little bit and 4-5-1 in their last 10. All I am saying is is hold all tickets. As the Blues look closer to locking up that eighth seed, I am telling you, don’t count out the Flames.
