The Calgary Flames announced Thursday that the club has signed goaltender Connor Murphy to a two-way contract for the balance of the 2024-25 campaign.

Murphy joins the Flames following four showings this season with the club’s AHL affiliate, the Calgary Wranglers, in which he went 2-2-0 with an .881 save percentage and 4.14 goals-against average. Murphy has also seen 19 showings this season with the ECHL’s Rapid City Rush in which he went 8-6-4 with a .912 save percentage, 2.97 goals-against average, and one shutout.

In all, through two seasons at the AHL level, the 26-year-old native of Hudson Falls, N.Y., owns a 6-6-3 record with a .912 save percentage, 2.91 goals-against average, and one shutout. Hudson is also 15-16-5 with a .906 save percentage, 3.20 goals-against average, and one shutout at the ECHL level.

An NCAA graduate, Murphy spent four seasons at the collegiate level with the Northeastern Huskies and the Union Garnet Chargers. Through four campaigns at the NCAA level, Murphy went 35-44-7 with a .906 save percentage, 2.93 goals-against average, and seven shutouts.

In 2018-19, Murphy suited up with the Junior-A Carleton Place Canadians where through 47 outings he found the win column 31 times and led all goaltenders with a 2.07 goals-against average.

Murphy joins a Flames squad that already counts fellow goaltender Dustin Wolf, the 23-year-old star netminder who has posted a 21-12-4 record alongside a .913 save percentage, 2.59 goals-against average, and two shutouts in 37 outings this season. The Flames also have 27-year-old backup netminder Dan Vladar, a pending unrestricted free agent who carries a $2.2-million annual average value, according to PuckPedia.

On the season, the Flames sit 29-23-9 to hold down the second wildcard seed in the Western Conference with 67 points. The Flames will look to continue their playoff push when the squad returns to the ice Thursday against the Dallas Stars.
