Canada releases 25-player roster for 2025 World Juniors

Hockey Canada has announced its 25 man roster for the upcoming 2025 World Juniors tournament that kicks off December 26, 2024 – January 5, 2025.

Canada is looking for a bounce back year after they fell in the quarterfinal to Czechia last year, ending a two-year gold-medal streak.

Notable cuts are Anaheim Ducks prospect Beckett Sennecke, Calgary Flames prospect Zayne Parekh and Nashville Predators prospect Matthew Wood.

Of players who made it include San Jose Sharks first round pick Sam Dickinson, Philadelphia Flyers prospect Jett Luchanko, Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan, Winnipeg Jets prospect Brayden Yager, Nashville Predators prospect Tanner Molendyk, Vancouver Canucks prospect Sawyer Mynio, Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Luca Pinelli and more. and 2025 NHL Draft prospects Matthew Schaefer and Porter Martone. Meanwhile, 2026 top prospect Gavin McKenna has also cracked the roster.

Goaltenders include Flyers prospect Carson Bjarnason, Los Angeles Kings prospect Carter George and 2025 draft eligible prospect Jack Ivankovic.

Yesterday, Canada wrapped up its two-game, four-day selection camp in Ottawa with a 2-1 victory, sweeping the U SPORTS selects team in the process.

Canada will kick off World Juniors action on Dec. 26 against Finland, before facing off against Latvia, Germany and the United States in round robin action.
