Canada’s Josh Morrissey to miss 4 Nations final; Thomas Harley to play

Canada will be without Josh Morrissey for the championship game against the United States of the 4 Nations Face-Off set for Thursday evening in Boston, Massachusetts.
Filling in for the Winnipeg Jets defender will be Dallas Stars defenseman Thomas Harley.
Morrissey has appeared in three games for Canada at the 4 Nations, registering zero points.

Morrissey has racked up seven goals and 39 assists for 46 points this season with Winnipeg. Morrissey is currently in the fifth year of an eight-year contract with a $6.25 million cap hit.
Harley played in one game for Canada already, filling in for Cale Makar who was absent due to illness.
Harley has made 53 appearances with the Stars this season in which he has recorded nine goals and 20 assists for 29 points. Originally chosen 18th overall by Dallas in the 2019 NHL Draft, Harley has played part of five seasons with the Stars where through 172 total appearances he has tallied 25 goals and 57 assists for 82 points.
It’s not the first time that Harley has made his appearance for Canada on the international stage. Harley represented Canada in 2021, losing to the U.S. in the gold medal game of the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship. The Syracuse, New York native (who has dual citizenship) also played for Canada at the 2019 IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship and the 2018 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge.
