Canadiens’ Juraj Slafkovsky to miss a week with upper-body injury, will be reevaluated afterwards
The Montreal Canadiens have announced that forward Juraj Slafkovsky will miss a week due to an upper-body injury. Slafkovksy will be re-evaluated for the injury in one week.
Slafkovsky has one goal and five assists for six points in six games this season.

The Canadiens and Slafkovsky agreed to an eight-year, $60.8 million extension back in July, the deal has a cap hit of $7.6 million. Slafkovsky is currently in the final season of his entry-level contract in 2024-25, where he’s set to earn $950,000 before his new deal kicks in.
Slafkovsky tallied 20 goals and 50 points in 82 games during the 2023-24 season, all career highs.
The Kosice, Slovakia native would go on to represent Slovakia at the 2024 IIHF World Championships, and was among one of the Slovaks’ best forwards, recording eight assists in eight tournament games.
In 127 career NHL games, Slafkovsky has scored 25 goals and added 41 assists for 66 points.
Meanwhile, the Canadiens announced Michael Pezzetta will play tonight vs. New York Rangers. Pezzetta notched three goals and 12 points in 61 games during the 2023-24 season.
Montreal is 2-3-1 to start the season, following their game tonight against the Rangers, the Canadiens are set to face off against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday and the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.
