Condotta is in the final season of a two-year contract with an NHL AAV of $775,000 and a minor-league salary of $200,000 this season.
The 27-year-old came to the organization as an undrafted winger, joining the Canadiens’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Laval Rocket, after four years playing collegiately at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. He signed his first NHL contract in March 2022, making his NHL debut with the Habs on April 13, 2023.
The Georgetown, Ontario native has played a handful of games with the Canadiens over the past three seasons, making a career-best seven appearances with Montreal this season. His lone point in the NHL in 2024-25 came as a goal, the second of his career, in a 5-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Nov. 16.
Condotta’s last appearance with the big club was on Nov. 23, when the Habs lost to the Vegas Golden Knights, 6-2. He played in 11 NHL games, scoring two goals.
He has spent most of his pro career with Laval and has been a solid spark plug while providing some offensive touch. In 50 games with the Rocket season, Condotta has notched three goals and 20 assists for 23 points, the most since his 31-point performance during his rookie campaign in 2022-23.
Condotta has also been known to be a little physical, registering 58 penalty minutes—a little behind teammate Florian Xhekaj, who leads the AHL with 141 PIM.
In 194 appearances with Laval, Condotta has notched 27 goals and 47 assists for 74 points, scoring four points in 12 Calder Cup Playoff games.
The Canadiens (33-27-7) are fourth in the Atlantic Division and hold the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. The Rocket (39-16-3) are first in the AHL’s North Division.
