Capitals sign Ethen Frank to two-year deal, Chad Priskie to one-year deal

The Washington Capitals signed forward Ethen Frank to a two-year deal and defenseman Chad Priskie to a one-year deal on Sunday, according to PuckPedia.

Both players were key contributors to the Hershey Bears’ Calder Cup championship last week, defeating the Coachella Valley Firebirds for the second consecutive year. It was their 13th title in franchise history, the most in AHL history.

The first year of Frank’s deal is a two-way deal, worth $750,000 in the NHL and $250,000 in the minors. In the second year, it changes to a one-way deal was worth $775,000.

Frank, 26, has spent his entire professional career with the AHL’s Hershey Bears. Through parts of three seasons, he’s scored 60 goals and 37 assists for 97 points.

Before going pro, Frank spent five seasons with Western Michigan University, scoring 70 goals and 48 assists for 118 points between 2017-18 and 2021-22.

As for the 28-year-old Priskie, his deal is worth $775,000 in the NHL and $400,000 in the minors. Last season, he scored eight goals and 26 assists for 34 points in 69 regular-season games.

Taken in the sixth round by the Capitals in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, Priskie has scored 38 goals and 91 assists for 129 points in 253 career AHL games with the Hershey Bears, Rochester Americans, San Diego Gulls, Charlotte Checkers, Syracuse Crunch and Springfield Thunderbirds.

Priskie also played four games with the Florida Panthers in 2021-22.
