The Los Angeles Kings have traded forward Austin Wagner to the Chicago Blackhawks for future considerations.

Wagner has spent his entire NHL career with the Kings since going 99th overall in 2015. The 25-year-old has spent the past two seasons with the AHL’s Ontario Reign, recording 12 points in 24 games this year and 22 in 55 games the year before.

Wagner has 22 goals and 40 points in 171 games while adding an additional 70 penalty minutes in a sandpaper-depth role.

The speedy winger couldn’t find a role with the Blackhawks, but could be a decent bottom-line forward for the Hawks. Chicago has shipped out eight players, a pair of picks and another set of future considerations. In return, they acquired six picks and nine players as the team chases the first overall pick in 2023.
