It’s a little pay bump for Crevier, who is coming off a one-year, two-way contract with the Blackhawks organization that had an NHL AAV of $775,000 and a minor-league salary of $275,000.
The 24-year-old has slowly started to become a reliable depth defender in Chicago’s system. After working to find his footing in parts of two seasons with the Hawks’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, Crevier spent the majority of the 2024-25 campaign with the big club, appearing in a career-high 32 games. He potted his first NHL goal on Nov. 27 against the Dallas Stars and went on to tally three goals and an assist for four points, posting a plus/minus of -6 while averaging a little over 17 minutes of ice time per game.
Standing at 6-foot-8 and weighing over 200 pounds, the Quebec City native has never frayed from using his size to his advantage. Even though he played less than half of the team’s games, Crevier finished seventh on the Blackhawks in hits with 70.
He also played in 15 games with the IceHogs last season, registering four points with a +1 rating.
Over the past two seasons, Crevier has played in 56 NHL regular-season games, notching three goals and four assists for seven points, with a career rating of -22. In 124 AHL appearances, he has scored four goals and 16 assists for 20 points with a +7 rating.
With the signing, the Blackhawks have 12 defensemen signed to NHL contracts for the 2025-26 season. According to CapWages, Chicago has approximately more than $22.3 million in projected cap space.
