As reported by Frank Seravalli, the Chicago Blackhawks are expected to sign Ryan Greene to an entry-level contract.

Greene was selected No. 57 overall in the 2022 NHL Draft by Chicago.

Greene spent the 2024-25 campaign with the Boston University Terriers, where he tallied 13 goals and 25 assists for 38 points in 40 games, ranking third among Terriers’ skaters. Greene was named Terriers’ co-captain for this season.

Boston University just wrapped up its season, losing in the NCAA Championship to the Western Michigan Broncos.

“He looks like a pro — his game overall, his details defensively,” Pandolfo said in an interview with The Athletic. “He can skate, coming through the neutral zone with speed, attacking with speed, better at protecting pucks. Just all the things that go into making you a good pro, he’s really developed in all those areas in the last three years. He’s taken a huge step this year. I like where his game’s at. … In practice sometimes, just the way he moves and the way he plays the game and has an understanding of the game, he looks like an NHL player.”

The Newfoundland native has spent the last three seasons with BU, where he has tallied 34 goals and 71 assists for 105 points in 118 games. During the 2022-23 season, Greene was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team and helped BU capture the NCAA Hockey East Championship.

This past season, Greene registered four points in two games in the Toledo regional to help lead BU to its third straight Frozen Four appearance with him on the team. Greene was named to the NCAA Hockey East Third All-Star Team.
