Frontenacs, Rangers, IceDogs to bid for 2027 Memorial Cup

The Ontario Hockey League’s Kingston Frontenacs, Kitchener Rangers, Niagara IceDogs and Guelph Storm are among the teams that will bid to host the Canadian Hockey League’s 2027 Memorial Cup, according to Daily Faceoff’s Jeff Marek.

The 2026 host of the four-team tournament, which puts the CHL’s three league champions and the host team against one another, will take place in Kelowna, B.C. with the Kelowna Rockets serving as host.
In 2025, the Quebec Maritime Junior Hockey League’s Rimouski Oceanic hosted the tournament, along with the QMJHL Champion Moncton Wildcats, the OHL Champion London Knights and Western Hockey League Champion Medicine Hat Tigers. The Knights defeated the Tigers in the Final.
The last OHL team to host the Memorial Cup was the Saginaw Spirit in 2024, who defeated the OHL Champion London Knights in the Final. The WHL’s Moose Jaw Warriors and QMJHL’s Drummondville Voltigeurs also competed.
The Rangers last hosted the tournament in 2008, while also winning the OHL Championship that season. They were eliminated by the WHL’s Spokane Chiefs in the Final.
Niagara Falls last hosted the tournament in 1968 when their team was known as the Niagara Falls Flyers. They won the championship, defeating the Estevan Bruins.
The Storm last hosted the tournament in 2002, as the WHL’s Kootenay Ice defeated the QMJHL’s Victoriaville Tigres in the Final.
