Columbus Blue Jackets place Carson Meyer on waivers
The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Carson Meyer on waivers Saturday.
If Meyer clears, he will be sent down to the Blue Jackets’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the Cleveland Monsters.

Meyer has scored 22 goals and 15 assists for 37 points in 55 games this season with Cleveland, he ranks second in goals and fourth in points among Monsters’ skaters.
Meyer signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 last summer, he is set to become a restricted free agent on July 1. The 25-year-old winger was originally a sixth-round pick of the Blue Jackets in the 2017 NHL Draft. He was drafted after a 26-point campaign for Miami University (Ohio). Over the next two seasons following his draft with Ohio State University, he scored 22 and 31 points, respectively. Meyer earned a full-time spot on the Monsters in the 2021-22 season, with 27 points in 57 games. He also played 13 NHL games, including scoring his first NHL goal.
The Blue Jackets currently rank eighth in the Metropolitan Division with a 25-39-12 record and 62 points through 76 games. According to Daily Faceoff’s Draft Lottery Odds, Columbus ranks fourth and has a 9.5% chance of winning the draft lottery odds to draft Macklin Celebrini No.1 overall.
Columbus is set to face off against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday and the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday in back-to-back games.
