Could the Blues look to capitalize on Jordan Binnington on the NHL trade market?

Questions swirled around Canada’s goaltending going into the 4 Nations Face-Off, but in the end, Jordan Bennington shut the door and helped the Canadians win the NHL-based tournament.
The St. Louis Blues netminder hasn’t had the greatest of regular seasons, posting a 16-19-4 record with an .898 save percentage and 2.84 goals against average in 40 appearances. But following his performance at the 4 Nations tournament, some are wondering if Binnington may have increased his value ahead of the March 7 Trade Deadline.
On Tuesday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk are joined by former NHL goalie Carton Hutton for another addition of The Blue Paint, discuss Binnington’s potential value, and if St. Louis should cash in.
Tyler Yaremchuk: If you’re the Blues and you’re looking at these numbers from Binnington, then all of a sudden there’s all this hype around his name, would you look to cash in on that?
Carter Hutton: You never know what Doug Armstrong is thinking. He’s a guy who is aggressive, especially on a team that is five points out of a playoff spot. It doesn’t really seem like this is the year they’re going to get it done. With all the talk about their captain, Brayden Schenn, being move, who knows if Binnington could get moved?
The problem for me right now with this market, is there’s not a lot of teams that need a guy. All the teams that are in the playoffs already have their goalie. But Binnington proved that he can win on the big stage. Yes it’s a short tournament, but he showed in that moment that he has the mental capacity to handle it. It’ll be interesting to see what happens.
