Daily Faceoff DFS Value Plays – January 23rd
We’ve got a great slate tonight, with several players at each position jumping out as great value options who are either in critical roles for their team or providing great production.
This value sheet includes salaries, projections for DraftKings and FanDuel, and three punt defencemen options.
These projections don’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen. One game sample has too much randomness to pin down exact predictions. Instead, the projections represent a player’s average performance on average if that matchup was played repeatedly. There is a wide range of possible outcomes, and the projections represent each player’s average of those possibilities.
FULL DFO Daily Projections
Jack Quinn (W, BUF) – @ ANA – (DK-$3,800 / FD -$5,200)
DFO Projection: DK-9.2 / FD-11.8
Both sites have Quinn popping in terms of a strong value play, as the Buffalo Sabres’ third line have an excellent matchup against the Anaheim Ducks. Quinn himself has great shot volume and point production this year for his role, and is a great value play tonight.
Artemi Panarin (W, NYR) – @ SJS – ($8,900 / $10,000)
DFO Projection: DK-7.8 / FD-23.1
In terms of building blocks, Panarin is right there at the top on both sites, and is popping as a great value despite being the third most expensive player on both sites. And despite a massive point projection from Daily Faceoff tonight, he’s going well underowned. Quite frankly, it makes no sense, and while I expect his and his linemates’ ownership on NYR2 to increase, this is a must-play spot tonight.
Thomas Harley (D, DAL) – @ DET – ($4,700 / $5,900)
DFO Projection: DK-10.2 / FD-13.1
Daily Faceoff has Harley popping on both sites tonight as one of the top value plays on the slate among defencemen. He’s had good, not great shot volume and blocks a ton of shots.
Evan Bouchard (D, EDM) – vs. CBJ – ($6,900 / $8,500)
DFO Projection: DK-13.5 / FD-18.1
Bouchard has been having an excellent season for the Edmonton Oilers, and has been producing offence at an elite clip. His 2.6 points per hour are the highest among all defencemen on today’s slate, with his 7.3 shots on goal per hour second. He’s a great player for mini-stacks with any of the Oilers’ first line players.
Top Punt Defencemen
- Zach Bogosian, MIN ($2,600/ $3,600: DK-5.6 / FD-7.0
- Chris Tanev, CGY ($3,600/$3,900): DK-6.9 / FD-8.7
- Marc-Edouard Vlasic, SJS ($3,200/$3,800): DK-6.3 / FD-7.6
