Daily Faceoff NHL DFS Value Plays – February 26th

This value sheet includes salaries, projections for DraftKings and FanDuel, and three punt options for defensemen. These largely predicate around their ability to produce peripheral points by taking shots, and blocking them. These players are always live for the bonus’ on DraftKings.
A new addition is the “honourable mention forwards,” taking a look at some low-owned plays that expectations should be tempered with. Still, they bring some level of value in the form of a strong projection tonight, or good past production against their opponents.
These projections don’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen. One game sample has too much randomness to pin down exact predictions. Instead, the projections represent a player’s average performance on average if that matchup was played repeatedly. There is a wide range of possible outcomes, and the projections represent each player’s average of those possibilities.
FULL DFO Daily Projections
Mathew Barzal (W, NYI) – @ DAL – (DK-$6,700 / FD $8,000)
DFO Projection: DK-12.8 / FD-17.2
The Islanders have, by-in-large, been a disaster this season, and things aren’t much better with Patrick Roy at the helm, going g4-5-3. It hasn’t stopped Mathew Barzal from being a great player for them, and a great player for us in DFS. Scoring 3.1 points per hour with 9.6 shots on goal per hour over his last 25 games, Barzal is looking like a solid value play on tonight’s slate.
Jordan Eberle (W, SEA) – vs. BOS – ($4,300 / $5,400)
DFO Projection: DK-8.7 / FD-11.3
Now here’s a player who wants to go to a contender. Eberle has been on fire as his last 25 games, scoring 1.5 goals per hour and 2.9 points per hour with 8.3 shots on goal per hour. DFO’s DFS Charts have him and his linemates on Seattle’s top line having a great matchup, and Eberle is projecting for less than five percent ownership.
Rasmus Sandin (D, WSH) – vs. OTT – ($3,700 / $3,800)
DFO Projection: DK-9 / FD-12.3
Are you like me and scared off by what appears to be a very chalky WSH1 tonight? Well don’t get too much FOMO, because Sandin can provide us with some exposure to them, as Sandin plays a lot of his 5v5 minutes with them. Meanwhile, he’s been dynamite with .5 goals per hour and 2.2 points per hour over his last 25 games, and is projecting for less than five percent ownership.
Matt Roy (D, LAK) – @ EDM – ($4,100 / $5,000)
DFO Projection: DK-8.9 / FD-11.1
Matt Roy always seem to be a thorn in the Oilers’ side, and he is projecting for a big night tonight looking to 2x his salary. He has great peripherals with 6.1 shots per hour and 6.5 blocks per hour over his last 25 games.
