This three-game slate, our last before the All-Star break, should be an interesting one. There are projected to be tight games between the Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings, and the LA Kings and Nashville Predators, while the Anaheim Ducks come in as heavy favourites over a San Jose Sharks team that gave the Kraken fits last night.
The Ducks and Predators appear to be taking lots of the ownership on this slate, opening up an always solid LAK2 as a great spot to get different in GPPs as this slate’s top leverage play.
Let’s find some value.
This value sheet includes salaries, and projections for DraftKings and FanDuel, as well as three punt options for defensemen.
These projections don’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen. One game sample has too much randomness to pin down exact predictions. Instead, the projections represent a player’s average performance on average if that matchup was played repeatedly. There is a wide range of possible outcomes, and the projections represent each player’s average of those possibilities.
FULL DFO Daily Projections
Adam Henrique & Troy Terry (W, ANA) – vs SJS – (DK-$4,600 & $4,900 / FD $5,600 & $6,300)
DFO Projection: DK-13.6 & 14.3 / FD-18.2 & 19.5
There’s next to no correlation between the two as besides both being on the Anaheim Ducks, they share little of the ice together at 5v5 or on the power play. Yet, both are popping as far and away the top value plays among forwards on this slate, projecting for significant production against the San Jose Sharks. Cash core builds, Henrique is on ANA1 and Terry ANA2, making both lines stackable in GPP’s tonight.
Dylan Larkin (C, DET) – @ OTT – ($8,000 / $8,800)
DFO Projection: DK-13.3 / FD-17.3
Another great option to build around tonight is that of Dylan Larkin, who along with his linemates on DET1 have a great matchup against Ottawa. His 3.1 points per hour over his last 25 games are the most among any forward on this slate, and brings with him strong shot volume.
Shakir Mukhamadullin (D, SJS) – vs ANA – ($2,900 / N/A)
DFO Projection: DK-6.7 / FD-N/A
Apologies to the FanDuel players, but Mukhamadullin is going to be a staple here for a little while. He’s averaged 7 DKFPPG in each of his first two games, now up to three shots and five blocks in two games. He’s playing big minutes early on the Sharks’ top defensive pair, and will look to keep up his production tonight.
Roman Josi (D, NSH) – vs LAK – ($7,300 / $8,500)
DFO Projection: DK-12.9 / FD-17.3
Nashville disappointed Monday night against the Senators, and tonight they’ll look to rebound against the LA Kings, who have spiralled with a 3-8-6 record since Christmas.
Top Punt Defencemen
- Marc-Edouard Vlasic, SJS ($3,400/ $3,700): DK-7.4 / FD-9.1
- Jeff Petry, DET ($3,300/$4,100): DK-6.8 / FD-8.6
- Radko Gudas, ANA ($4,000/$4,300): DK-8.9 / FD-11.3
