Daily NHL betting guide: March 6

Getting a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.

During the 2021-22 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor thanks to this betting model and our betting tools.

NHL MODEL PICKS

Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via PointsBet), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.

You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

All “Recommended Bets” are 1 unit wagers.

I will also provide some analysis on the best bets and update this post throughout the day to point out big injury news, lineup changes, and backup goalies starting.

The number to keep an eye on is the “Diff.” which is the percentage difference between the model’s projected Win% and the projected Win% based on PointsBet odds. To find out how odds turn into percentages, use our Odds Calculator.

St. Louis Blues (@ NJD)

The Blues are coming off of a pretty poor performance against the Islanders on Saturday afternoon but the model likes them as -126 road favourites in New Jersey on Sunday. Ville Husso has been the better of the two netminders in St. Louis this season and he will start vs. the Devils. David Perron will also be returning to the lineup after missing yesterday’s game with an illness.

New Jersey’s offence has been solid lately, averaging 3.3 goals per game in their last 20. However, they can’t keep the puck out of their own net (3.9 goals against per game) and that has led to them going 5-15-0 over that 20-game span. This is a very winnable game for Blues and one they need to stay firmly in the playoffs in an uber-competitive Central Division.

1 Unit Bet: STL -126

Yaremchuk’s Picks

Yaremchuk’s Pick – Anaheim in regulation vs San Jose

The Sharks just got their teeth kicked in against the Predators last night and tonight they’re going to be giving Zach Sawchenko his first career NHL start. The Ducks should win this game regardless of who they start in net. There’s a lot I like on this slate actually, so I’m also taking the Blues in regulation at +110 and the Hurricanes on the puck line at -120 against a Kraken team that lost last night to Washington.

Yaremchuk’s Prop – Nothing

Hit on the Josi prop yesterday and today, there was nothing from the early games that caught my attention.
