Welcome to the DailyFaceoff Fantasy Minute for Monday, December 16th.
Let’s start with the news.
- Just when you thought things couldn’t get worse for the New York Rangers, Artemi Panarin missed their game on Sunday with an upper-body injury and is considered day-to-day. The Rangers have lost 10 of their last 13 games while averaging just 2.4 goals for and 3.8 goals against per game.
- The Toronto Maple Leafs placed Anthony Stolarz on injured reserve on Sunday. They didn’t provide any additional details on his timeline. All head coach Craig Berube had to say was, “We’ll get an update on it in a couple of days.” Moving him to injured reserve rules him out for their next game on Wednesday (@ Dallas). Hopefully we get a more detailed timeline by then. Look for Joseph Woll to continue to operate as the Maple Leafs No.1 netminder while Stolarz is sidelined.
Now let’s take a look at the best streaming targets for Week 11 of the Fantasy Hockey season:
The busy nights this week aren’t as busy as normal, so you may not need to worry too much about light nights but set your lineup ahead of time to make sure.
Either way, Casey Mittelstadt (C – Colorado Avalanche – 19% Rostered) looks like a great option this week. The Avalanche have the No.1 ranked strength of schedule this week with games vs. the Vancouver Canucks, San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks and Seattle Kraken. Three of those are on light nights. Mittelstadt was moved up to PP1 for their last game, and he’s skating on a line with Valeri Nichushkin and Ross Colton–that trio has scored three goals in just 55 minutes together at 5v5 this season. Mittelstadt hasn’t scored in 13 games, but he has four assists in his last five games, so he might be heating back up just in time to have a big week.
