Stars sign Arno Tiefensee to entry-level contract

The Dallas Stars announced Friday that the club has signed goaltender Arno Tiefensee to a two-year, entry-level contract set to begin in the 2025-26 season.
Tiefensee was originally chosen by the Stars in the fifth round of the 2023 NHL Draft.
A 22-year-old German native, Tiefensee made 29 appearances this season with the Mannheim Eagles of the first-tier German league in which he posted a 19-10-0 record coupled with a .912 save percentage, 2.27 goals-against average, and three shutouts. Tiefensee then helped the Eagles advance to the third round of the postseason where he won four of 10 outings in which he posted a .909 save percentage, 2.73 goals-against average, and one shutout.
In all, through three seasons with Mannheim, the 6-foot-4 goaltender established a 51-33-0 career record with a .910 save percentage, 2.37 goals-against average, and seven shutouts.
In 2019, Tiefensee joined Germany at the 2019 IIHF Under-18 Division 1 World Championship, making a lone appearance against France in which he turned aside 25 of 28 shots en route to a 9-3 victory.
Tiefensee becomes the fifth player to sign his entry-level contract with the Stars in recent weeks, a list that also includes Brampton Steelheads forward Angus MacDonell, defenseman Trey Taylor and forward Ayrton Martino of the Clarkson Golden Knights, and Maine Black Bears forward Harrison Scott.
According to PuckPedia, Tiefensee is one of three goaltenders under contract with the Stars next season alongside starter Jake Oettinger and backup goaltender Casey DeSmith. With the AHL affiliated Texas Stars, the club also has Benjamin Kraws and Remi Poirier, both pending restricted free agents, as well as Magnus Hellberg, who is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this coming offseason.
For the Stars, on the season the club sits 50-23-6 and six points back of the Winnipeg Jets for top spot in the Central Division.
