Stars sign Kole Lind to one-year contract extension

The Dallas Stars announced Monday that the club has signed right winger Kole Lind to a one-year, two-way contract extension.
Through 71 appearances in 2024-25 with the AHL affiliated Texas Stars, Lind tallied 23 goals and 29 assists to finish fourth in team scoring with 52 points coupled with a minus-three rating and a team-high 93 penalty minutes. Lind then added another 15 points counting eight goals and seven assists in 14 playoff outings.
Lind originally joined the Stars’ organization last July, agreeing to a one-year contract in unrestricted free agency. In early October, Lind was placed on waivers and later assigned to the minor-league club.
Originally chosen 33rd overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2017 NHL Draft, Lind has since seen 31 career contests at the NHL level with the Canucks and Seattle Kraken in which he has registered two goals and six assists for eight points. Lind has also recorded 284 points counting 111 goals and 173 assists over 384 games and eight seasons in the AHL.
A 26-year-old native of Swift Current, Sask., Lind is a graduate from the Canadian junior circuit, having spent part of four seasons with the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets from 2014-18. In his first season, Lind was a part of the Rockets squad that hoisted the Ed Chynoweth Cup, while in his final season he notched a career-best 95 points counting 39 goals and 56 assists coming in 58 games.
With Lind now signed, the Stars and general manager Jim Nill can turn their attention to other players who are set to become unrestricted free agents as of July 1, a list which includes forwards Colin Blackwell, Evgenii Dadonov, Mikael Granlund, and captain Jamie Benn, as well as defensemen Cody Ceci and Brendan Smith.
The Stars enter the offseason after being eliminated in the third round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Edmonton Oilers.
