The Dallas Stars will have plenty of travel points by the time the upcoming season is over.

According to Thomas Nestico (@TJStars on social media), the reigning Central Division the toughest travel schedule for the 2024-25 NHL regular season, with the team expected to travel an estimated 56,700 miles between games.

Because of their location in the southern U.S. state of Texas, the Stars are typically among the most-traveled teams in the NHL. However, the addition of the Utah Hockey Club franchise adds extra miles in the teams travel plans.

The extra distance also adds to the wear and tear the Stars went through last season, having made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals, where they were eliminated by the Edmonton Oilers in six games.

The team with the second-most travel in the NHL is the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Florida Panthers, with an estimated 51,100 miles for the upcoming season.

The Panthers and their in-state rival, the Tampa Bay Lightning, are the only two Eastern Conference teams in the top-10 list of expected miles travelled for the 2024-25 season. Because of the geography of the teams in the Western Conference, the amount of travel is significantly higher outside of the Eastern Standard Timezone.

Meanwhile, the team with the least amount of travel is the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are expected to only fly about 31,700 miles in 2024-25, a difference of 25,000 miles with the Stars.

The Stars went 52-21-9 with 113 points, first in both the Central Division and the Western Conference. Forward Jason Robertson led the team in scoring, finishing with 80 points (29 goals and 51 assists), a 29-point decrease from the previous season.
