Red Wings sign Eduards Tralmaks to one-year, two-way contract

On Friday, the Detroit Red Wings announced they had signed forward Eduards Tralmaks to a one-year, two-way contract.
The deal is for the 2025-26 season. The terms of the contract haven’t been announced by the team.

— Detroit Red Wings (@DetroitRedWings) March 21, 2025Tralmaks has spent the last two seasons in the Czech Extraliga with Rytíři Kladno, owned by Jaromir Jagr. The Latvian native is coming off his best season in the pro ranks. In 48 games with Kladno, he led the league with 23 goals and 28 points for 51 points, helping the team avoid the relegation series for this time since the 2019-20 season. He was the only player on his team to score over 40 points.
The 28-year-old is no stranger to playing in North America. He played for the Providence Bruins, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Boston Bruins, for over two seasons, last playing in the AHL during the 2022-23 campaign. Tralmaks scored 22 goals and 19 assists for 41 points in 87 career games in the ‘A,’ including appearing in three Calder Cup Playoff games.
Tralmaks track record is heavily based in New England. Along with playing AAA hockey in Boston, he played four years at the University of Maine, scoring 82 points in 119 games with the Black Bears.
The Riga native played junior hockey with the Boston Jr. Bandits in the EHL and Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League.
Tralmaks also represented his country on a couple of occasions. He helped Latvia qualify for the 2026 Winter Olympics earlier this season, right after playing for the Latvian squad at the 2024 IIHF Men’s World Championship. Tralmaks also played for Latvia at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship and 2015 IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship.
